Revision Rhinoplasty: When Is a Second Nose Surgery Necessary?
Ocak 22, 2026The First Week After Rhinoplasty
The initial recovery period after rhinoplasty is when swelling, bruising, and nasal congestion are most noticeable. During the first week, patients typically wear a nasal splint and are advised to rest, keep the head elevated, and avoid strenuous activity. Mild discomfort is common, but it can usually be managed with prescribed medication and proper care.
Weeks Two to Four: Early Healing Phase
As the second week begins, visible bruising usually starts to fade, and many patients feel comfortable returning to light daily activities. Swelling gradually decreases, although the nose may still feel stiff or sensitive. Follow-up appointments during this period allow the surgeon to monitor healing and address any concerns.
Long-Term Healing and Final Results
While much of the visible swelling resolves within the first few weeks, subtle swelling can continue for several months. The nasal shape becomes more refined over time, with final results typically developing within a year. Patience and adherence to post-operative instructions are essential, as the healing process varies for each individual.
